We are trying to make Christmas a little simpler, a little more homemade and a lot more from the heart each year. We make quite a few homemade gifts like candles, garden decor, bubble bath and diffuser ornaments as a family, but on this post I am only sharing the recipes of what we made at the annual ‘Make, Wrap and Take’ at The Farm with our oily tribe.
Christmas Spirit Spray
Supplies Needed:
- 4oz glass spray bottle
- Vodka or Witch Hazel
- Water
- Christmas Spirit Essential Oil
Directions:
- Add a squirt (teaspoon) of vodka or witch hazel to the glass spray bottle.
- Add 12 drops of Christmas Spirit Essential Oil.
- Add water to fill.
- Screw on the sprayer.
- Add a label.
- Shake and spray.
This could be used as an air freshener, bathroom spray or even a linen spray! Just shake and spray to enjoy!
Candy Cane Sugar Scrub

Supplies Needed:
- 8oz Mason Jar
- 8oz of Organic Cane Sugar
- 10-12 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
- 1/4 cup of organic fractionated coconut oil – This is different from regular coconut oil, as it will always stay liquid form, which makes it perfect for the scrub. It also doesn’t have any scent.
- A label
Directions:
- Place all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Mix well.
- Scoop it all in the jar.
- Screw on the lid.
- Label.
This scrub leaves your skin feeling so soft!
Mistletoe Lip Scrub
Supplies Needed:
- 1.5 ounces of Organic Cane Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon of Fractionated Coconut oil
- 2 drops Lemon Essential Oil
- 2 drops Lavender Essential Oil
- 2 drop CLEAR Vanilla or Stress Away Essential Oil
- Mason Jar
Directions:
- Place all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Mix well.
- Scoop it all in the jar.
- Screw on the lid.
- Label.
Love using this at night, just before bed.
Whipped Body Butter
Supplies Needed:
- 1/2 cup of Organic Shea Butter
- 1/4 cup of Organic Coconut Oil
- 1/4 cup of Organic Almond Oil or V6
- Essential Oils (Tea Tree, Frankincense and Lavender)
- Mason Jar
Directions:
- Let the ingredients get to room temperature. Think of butter for cookies.
- Add the Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and Almond Oil to a stand mixer or a bowl.
- Mix on medium-high for about 5-7 minutes until it looks like a whipped cream.
- Add the essential oils. About 5-8 drops each.
- Whip a little more until the essential oils are blended.
- Use a spoon and fill your mason jar. It fills one 10 ounce jar when whipped.
This is best applied after a shower or bath to lock in moisture. I love the way it keeps my skin feeling soft during the Michigan winters.
I am sure next year I will change it up a little, but some of the favorites will remain the same. I love this time of year!
Merry Christmas!
